Одна беда с гимном – две октавы диапазона – очень сильно не все могут вытянуть, особо после принятия этанола на душу населения; имперский гимн – в разы в этом плане лучше. Пичалько, да; которая, надеюсь – не помешает звездно-полосатому флагу и далее реять над землей свободных и домом храбрых :)

Некоторые хихикают, что гимн кончается вопросом. Но это только первая строфа; в последней это утверждение.

На мой взгляд, последняя строфа самая крутая. Есть даже книга и рассказ под названием When free men shall stand.

On the shore, dimly seen through the mists of the deep,

As it fitfully blows, half conceals, half discloses?

Я – за то чтобы официально петь минимум 2 станзы – (первую и последнюю). Опять же – петь – тяжко :( С вытягиванием free-EEE – выходит 2 октавы, что приводит к разным упсам :(

Сама же идея сепаратизма по отношению к лучшей и самой мощной стране в мире (UK) at the time – была чистым безумием. There's a price to pay for that, too :( Как оно вообще получилось – до сих пор понять не могу, сколько не читаю всякой всячины на эту тему.
